The Local Group BEST / Chisinau is a part of a global network BEST (Board of Engineering Students of Technology), present in 96 universities from 33 European countries and is a non-political and non-profit organization. BEST/Chisinau was founded in 2007 and consists of volunteer-students, carrying out various events for TUM students.
Since its establishment, The Local Group BEST / Chisinau  has made its aim to promote the image of TUM among the students from EU countries, organizing each year, with the support of TUM administration, Summer schools with a diverse thematic.

In the period from 5 to 20 July 2009, the public association Local Group BEST/Chisinau and The Anglophone Branch of TUM, FCIM, organized the International Summer School “Renewable energy resources” entitled “Spin Your Turbine,” which was attended by 22 students from technical universities of 16 EU countries (Germany, Spain, Portugal, France, Finland, Italy, Poland etc.).

For the first time, students coming from EU countries listened to a course of 30 hours in English in the field of computational numerical calculation of renewable energy conversion systems with a component of the study programs in the respective countries.

Engineering Competition, BEST

In the period 11-22 July 2010 the public association Local Group BEST / Chisinau and the Anglophone Branch from FCIM organized the Summer School “Communication protocols – how human beings can teach computers to talk to each other”, attended by 22 students from EU countries (Italy, Belgium, Romania, Slovenia, Spain, Poland), Russia, Ukraine and 22 students from Moldova.

In the period from 27 November to 12 December 2010, BEST / Chisinau organized the Technical Festival “BeeTech”, attended by over 100 students from TUM and in the period 14-18 March 2011 The Local Group BEST / Chisinau conducted an engineering competition – BEC (B – BEST E – Engineering, C – Competition). Engineering competitions, as well as other events BEST mark, contribute to professional and general-human development of TUM students, stimulating the creative and competitive spirit through testing the knowledge gained in the academic environment.

In the period from 10 to 21 July 2012, The Local Group BEST / Chisinau under the auspices of TUM, organized the International Summer School “Discover wine, explore taste”, attended by 22 students from the technical universities of Denmark, Sweden, Spain, Estonia , Macedonia, Czech Republic, Poland etc. The students listened to lectures concerning wine history, composition and preparation of wine, the cultural importance and visited the enterprise „Chateau Vartely”.

In March 2014, The Local Group BEST organized another engineering competition at European level and the winners represented the Republic of Moldova at regional stage, competing with student teams from Bucharest, Iasi, Timisoara, and Brasov. In the summer of 2014, The Local Group BEST / Chisinau organized Summer Courses “IT Management” with the participation of 30 students from different EU countries.
